Bangladesh crude oil Exploration and Production Company restricted (BAPEX) was established in 1989 because the national exploration company by abolishing the Exploration board of Petrobangla with a read too fast oil and gas exploration activities of the country. BAPEX was remodeled into a pursuit and production company in 2000 with a read to creating it self-directed.
presently BAPEX is manufacturing concerning a hundred and twenty mmcf gas daily from its six onshore gas fields (Saldana, Fenchuganj, Shahbazpur, Semutang, Shahjadpur-Sundalpur, and Srikail) causative to mitigate the increasing gas demand of the country. Besides, exploration and drilling activities in its awarded areas, BAPEX has conjointly been conducting drilling and work-over operations to alternative sister issues of Petrobangla since its starting. BAPEX was awarded exploration block eight & eleven at the side of some ring-fenced structures. Oil and gas exploration and development activities area unit being conducted sporadically in these areas.
